About
Dead In Suburbia is an experiment.
It started as a script for a short film designed for an ultra low budget, but I realized that I would still never be able to afford the cost of production and I hate asking people to work for free. So I decided to embark on quite a complex journey and turn this idea into a graphic novel.
First off, I don’t know how to draw. My hope, however, is that this will change over the course of 100 or so pages that make up this story.
On that note, there will be inconsistencies, flubs, and some downright bad mistakes along the way. You may wonder why I don’t fix them as best I can before posting the pages. Well, to me its simple: This is a journey. I want to be able to look back and see where I made those mistakes and also see if I was able to change my approach in the next page. Oh yeah, if you see something that I haven’t brought up, please feel free to tell me.
In the early pages you will see some obvious changes in style as I try to figure out what techniques and tools are most comfortable for me. I will comment on each page as it goes up, but if you have a question I will be happy to share to best of my knowledge. Of course, that knowledge is slim. One thing I do know is that I am having a blast on this project!
I do hope, the artwork aside, you enjoy the story.
Cheers,
